It goes a little further

This hike also runs largely through the wooded areas of the Cirque de Bonifatu on very well-maintained paths without any technical challenges.
The starting point and ascent are identical to the route to Bocca di Bonassa. There are always views of the valley and the surrounding mountain peaks.

At the saddle, the panorama is also beautiful. The view stretches from Cap Corse over the north coast with Calvi and the Revellata peninsula to the green valleys and down to the west coast, a perfect place to rest.
A little further uphill, then it goes down in serpentines on the other side of the mountain range into the valley. On the way there are still very nice views of the mountain massif of the Cirque de Bonifatu.

In this more extensive variant, you turn right after passing a scree slope on the right side. After a few meters you will pass the ruins of the Prince Pierre Bonaparte chalet. They once built a chalet here, but not much is left of it.

The hike continues into the Cirque de Bonifatu to the end of the Piste de Roncu. There you cross the Figarela river and follow the path until a left turn leads down to the Rau de Melaghia.
Shortly before going up to the parking lot at the end of the Route de Bonifatu, you cross a suspension bridge and there are some pools on the Figarela River that invite you to swim.

Upstairs in the restaurant of the Auberge de la Forêt you can still enjoy the evening atmosphere before you walk the last few meters along the small road back to the parking lot. Alternatively, you can of course also park at the restaurant (for a fee in summer) and start the tour there.
