Many stones on the beach - impressive gorge

There are only two towns on the north west coast of Corsica – Galéria and Porto, both sheltered in a bay. Porto has only about 600 inhabitants, a small port and a Genoese tower, which can also be visited in the season. There is a large pebble beach, but partly with strong surf.

The tour starts in the north of Porto. We parked the car in a small parking lot and unloaded the bikes there. This is followed by a detour to the Plage de Bussaglia and then the impressive coastal road along the cliffs to Porto. In Porto you cross the river of the same name via the pedestrian bridge at the port.

Then it’s up the mountain towards Corte. If you continue to follow this road you will come to the Col de Vergio at 1480 m. In the tour, however, you take the left turn in the direction of Ota. At the bottom of the old stone bridge there are wonderful opportunities for bathing in the river, we absolutely enjoyed it.

The way back leads on the other side of the valley via Ota back down into the valley and further along the coast to the starting point.
