For me one of the Most Beautiful Parts of Corsica

Driving along the narrow coastal road on the northwest coast is always an experience for me. The cliffs and the sea views are fascinating. There are a few ways to head down to the sea and take a dip to cool off. The beaches on this coast are stony beaches with all sizes and colours of round stones, from very small millimetres to meters in size.

The coastal road is mostly very uneven, so the MTB is the best choice for me here. In addition to the detours to the beaches, you can also drive up to an old semaphore or a wind farm.
Also of interest is the Mine de l’Argentella, a disused silver mine from the 1860s in the Bay of L’Argentella. The mine included a port in the bay, several buildings and also a small reservoir located above. In the middle of the maquis there is still a single chimney – a bizarre panorama. In 1960, the French government even tried to set up a nuclear waste repository in the old mine shafts, which fortunately failed due to the resistance of the Corsicans.

In any case, before you reach the bridge to Galeria, it is worth turning right onto a small path that leads down to the bay. The beach here consists of billions of colourful stones and is very impressive to look at. A detour to Galeria is also worthwhile, a nice coastal village which invites you to a coffee break.

For the way back you can take the same route or the slightly shorter and faster route via the Bocca di Marsolinu. Here you have to climb up to 443 m, but you can then enjoy the ride down to Calvi.
