The Mountains in the Sea

The central mountain range of the island is as old as the Alps and can also be viewed as such from an aeronautical perspective. The combination of almost 9000 ft of vertical drop, the Mediterranean sun and the humidity in the sea air often brings clouds, showers and thunderstorms with it.
There are not very many days of the year when the mountainous regions of Corsica can be freely flown. The wind at high altitude must also be taken into account, there are sometimes strong turbulences and mountain waves.

The best chance for an undisturbed flight through the mountains of Corsica is early in the morning. Going directly from the coastal region to a high alpine world in a few minutes is undoubtedly a fascinating experience. The variety of different impressions will surely be remembered for a long time.
