Lots of free Sight & good Paths
The hike starts at the northern starting point of the GR20 in Calenzana. There is a lot of unobstructed views of the coast and mountains on this tour and the trails are in good condition except for a few fallen trees.
After about 400 m we turn left from the GR20 and take an alternative route through a side valley with old chestnut trees. In autumn you will find one or the other chestnut here, which you can later put on the grill.
After about 5 km there is another fork where you keep to the right. The August 2022 storm brought down some trees that have not yet been removed along this low-traffic route. Therefore, one or the other small detour is necessary, but this is not a problem.
Arrived at Ruisseau de Santucce, after about 9 km, orientation is a bit difficult. Here you can follow the stream uphill until you reach Bocca à u Bassiguellu, where you meet the GR20 again.
On almost the entire tour you have a wonderful view. In the photos below, even the Maritime Alps behind Genoa can be clearly seen.
On the way back we follow the GR20 to Calenzana. There are a few easy downhill sections in the ridge area of the first part of the way back.
